Delete your QuickInk account and data

This page explains how to delete your QuickInk account and associated data. It applies to the QuickInk apps published by thoughtbasics.

Where your data lives

  1. On your device — the local app database and media cache.
  2. In QuickInk’s cloud — your account record and, if you signed in, your synced content: documents, photos/videos, notes, voice notes and transcriptions, extracted and transcribed document text, chat messages and face data from earlier versions of the app and the web app, Ask conversations, tasks, trip records from earlier versions of the app, and sharing records, stored with our infrastructure providers (see the Privacy Policy, Section 6).

Deleting your account removes both.

How to delete

Open QuickInk → Settings → Delete account and confirm. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: the app deletes your account and all cloud data on the spot, then wipes the local database and media cache and signs you out.

Deletion covers: your account and profile, all synced content and media files (documents, scans, photos/videos, notes, voice notes and transcriptions, extracted and transcribed document text, Ask conversations, tasks, face data and trip records from earlier versions of the app and the web app), published pages and share links, album/document/chat memberships and your chat messages (from earlier versions of the app and the web app), push tokens registered by earlier versions, your analytics data (your analytics identity and usage events), and cached answers to your Ask questions. Content in shared spaces that other people still use (for example, a shared album’s thread) loses your contributions but remains for its other members.

Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on the normal backup-rotation cycle, and certain security logs are retained for 180 days as required by Indian law (CERT-In directions), after which they are deleted.

Option B — By email

If you can no longer sign in, email admin@thoughtbasics.com from the email address of your QuickInk account (shown in Settings → Account), with the subject “QuickInk deletion request”. No reason required.

We will verify the request, perform the same deletion described above, and confirm by email within 30 days (typically much sooner).

Afterwards — Remove access

Optionally revoke QuickInk’s access to your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account on an iPhone or iPad also ends QuickInk’s access to your Apple account. If you deleted it on Android or the web, remove QuickInk under Settings → Apple Account → Sign in with Apple on an iPhone, or at account.apple.com. If you deleted by email (Option B), also uninstall the app to remove local data.

What others may still have

Content you shared or published before deletion may remain with recipients who downloaded it, and published pages are removed as part of deletion — but copies made by others are outside our control.
